Tix for The Tote show with J.J. McCann Transmission:

Penny Ikinger will be playing solo show supporting James McCann’s new band J.J. McCann Transmission. She will be on stage at The Tote at 5.30pm for a 45 min set.

James McCann has traversed the rock’n’roll spectrum, from dirty blues jams, to country, to abrasive 70s rock releasing several albums on BANG! Records ( Spain ) BEAST Records ( France ) & TORN and FRAYED ( Australia). McCann has also found time to collaborate with Spencer P Jones (Beasts of Bourbon, Johnnys ), Nunchukka Superfly (featuring Ray Ahn and Peter Black from the Hard Ons), Damo Suzuki (Can), Brian Hooper (Beasts of Bourbon) and Penny Ikinger (Wet Taxis).McCann’s last album with the New Vindictives, Gotta Lotta Move – Boom!, released in 2017 on vinyl on French label Beast Records and on CD on Off the Hip, sees McCann return to the punk rock roots that inspired him as a teenager. Featuring a co-write with Penny Ikinger (I Can Control Your Mind) and a cover of Spencer P Jones’ Life in Jail, Gotta Love Move – Boom! is nine doses of punk-spiked rock’n’roll guaranteed to kick you into excitement.  James’ music is awash with the punk attitude of the Sex Pistols, the rhythmic brutality of Feedtime and the leather-clad rock’n’roll passion of Motörhead. 2019 saw James return to the recording studio with Rob Younger ( Radio Birdman, New Christs as producer. The album was 3/4 finished when the COVID-19 pandemic hit Australia, and remains that way for the time being.

There’s a high chance that this show will sell out so get in quick!
